Wow this album has been in my collection for a while and Im just getting around to giving it a proper listen. This is really good, can’t believe that I passed over this for so long.

Damn,…what a monster! Well, i would call it progressive black/death doom metal. The harder songs (1-3) really kick ass. Amazing guitarwork and some heavy drums. Then there is an acoustic intro to the next song „Black Crystal Snowfall“ It‘s a little slower but an epic piece of music. After that, there is an acoustic outro - simply amazing. Truly a masterpiece!

On ne frappe pas un homme à terre : c'est ce que dit la règle mais NONE a déjà prouvé qu'il ne les suivait pas et si son album éponyme retirait toute perspective de béatitude spirituelle, Life has gone on long enough, son deuxième opus, nous interdit l'accès au bonheur terrestre. La vie n'a aucune substance et la production plus distante le confirme. Le DSBM s'empare de textures sonores blues, mettant en relief une dépression urbaine. Les cris partent en fumées : ne restent que les pleurs...

L'obsidienne est une roche de couleur noire et son aspect vitreux absorbe le regard ; mais sous la lumière, elle produit de magnifiques reflets arcs-en-ciel. C'est ce degré de magnificence qu'Obsidian Tongue vise dans A Nest of Ravens in the Throat of Time. Si la production est toujours rugueuse, le duo américain met l'accent sur les mélodies, plus profondes et mélancoliques. Progressives, les pistes se rallongent et se condensent. Un bel opus qui frôle, sans l'atteindre encore, la perfection !
